Health Fund

Participants may earn eligibility for health benefits which include medical, dental, and vision benefits. Participants may also earn eligibility for retiree benefits pre-medicare, and supplemental benefits after becoming eligible for medicare. To find a list of covered benefits and all other rules of the Plan, click to view to current Summary Plan Description (SPD). There have been changes to the Health Fund since the last SPD was printed. The changes are made in the form of a Summary of Material Modification (SMM). Click here to view the changes in the Health Fund since the past printing of the SPD.

2024 Medical Premium Rates

Open enrollment is available through November 15, 2023.  Forms were mailed out to membership by Zenith American Solutions. If you have not received the forms for this year, contact the office at 612-379-2966 or email us at [email protected] to be sure we have your most recent mailing address on file and we will send you the forms you need to complete enrollment. You can also update your contact information here.

Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)

Some participants under certain Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) may accumulate funds to be used for reimbursing medical expenses. An HRA is an individual account and not a group insurance program. Click here to view the Summary Plan Description (SPD).

IMTEF Maternity Disability Benefit & Childcare Benefit

We're excited to announce IMTEF's new maternity benefit for pregnant women and new mothers represented by IUBAC!  This program is another great step toward making high-paying construction jobs with great benefits more welcoming to women. In addition to IMTEF's new paid materinity benefit plan, IMI is giving IUBAC members a 10% discount on high-quality childcare at KinderCare's 1700 centers across the country.

Mutual Relief

Disability Benefits

The Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 1 provides accident, sick, and disability benefits for eligible members. Payments for qualifying members will be $50.00 per week for a maximum of 20 weeks per injury or illness. Contact the Local Union and talk to a Business Representative for more information regarding this benefit or click here for an application. Death Benefits

Upon your death, or the death of your spouse, a benefit will be paid by the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 1. The amount will depend on the number of continuous years you have been a member in good standing for. Contact the BAC Local 1 office at 612-379-2966 with questions.

Mutual Relief benefits are conditioned on your good standing with the Union. If you are past two months in arrears on payment of your dues, then you stand suspended from all rights, benefits, or privileges of this Fund.

Vacation Fund

Minnesota and North Dakota Vacation Fund

Participants accumulate an individual account based on hours worked and the contribution rate in the area where the work is performed. Funds are distributed twice a year based on the terms in the Summary Plan Description (SPD). To view the current SPD click on Vacation Fund SPD.

Duluth and Iron Range Vacation Savings Plan

Participants that work under the Collective Bargaining Agreements in Duluth and the Iron Range have their vacation savings deposited directly into individual accounts at Centricity Credit Union or the Virginia CO-OP.

Minnesota & North Dakota Defined Benefit Pension Fund

Participants may accumulate benefits for a pension and receive monthly benefits upon retirement. The eligibility requirements along with the rates of accrual and other rules regarding the Plan can be found in the Summary Plan Description (SPD). Click here to view the current SPD. International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Defined Benefit Pension Fund

Participants may accumulate benefits for a pension and receive monthly benefits upon retirement. The eligibility requirements along with the rates of accrual and other rules regarding the Plan can be found in the Summary Plan Description (SPD). Minnesota Ceramic Tile Setters Pension Fund

Participants accumulate funds in individual accounts which they may then invest in a select number of Mutual Funds. Qualifying participants upon retirement may withdraw a lump sum of the investment or choose to receive monthly installments. Duluth and Iron Range Retirement Fund

Participants that work under the Collective Bargaining Agreements in Duluth and the Iron Range accumulate an individual account based on hours worked and the contribution rate in the area where the work is performed. Investments are trustee directed. Lump sum retirement benefits are available for eligible participants. Click to view a copy of the current Summary Plan Description (SPD).

BAC SAVE Retirement Savings Plan

BAC SAVE Retirement Savings Plan is a retirement plan in addition to the International Pension Fund, in that it is a retirement plan that has similar options such as a monthly draw for Retirement, Survivor, Death Benefits, and Disability. In the near future, IPF will be updating the bacbenefits.org website for a more user-friend experience.
