As highlighted in the last quarterly newsletter, the MULE has arrived and is being used in Minnesota and North Dakota. This Masonry assisting tool was designed for Bricklayers to help us be more productive and to reduce stress and strain on the body of the Mason. Construction Robotics, the manufacturer of SAM and MULE, has worked with the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers International Union in the research and development of this Masonry tool.

Initial feedback from members working with the MULE is positive. One member stated that with this innovation he sees himself working another 4-5 years to get him closer to full retirement. Companies are reporting that they have seen an increase in productivity and less fatigue from and on the Mason.

This Masonry tool’s versatility is vast! Construction Robotics is looking forward to hearing from both contractors and Masons on the applications MULE is being used for. The Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 1 and the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers International Union is very interested in hearing from those companies and Masons to help better the industry with continued developments in the Masonry tool industry.

The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers and Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local #1 MN/ND/SD claims all work done with the MULE and SAM. These tools are not to be used by other trades that may claim it is a shared tool or a tool for all to use. These tools were designed for the bricklayer. Let’s keep it that way.

We look forward to hearing your comments, thoughts, and seeing panoramic pictures of SAM and MULE in use. Please email us directly at [email protected] with your thoughts, pictures, and videos.
