2021 MCMCA Membership - Grant

Dear MC&MCA Member:

The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry has made $120,000 available in grant dollars for employers who hire new apprentices.  Specifically, companies that are affiliated with union apprenticeship programs are qualified for a grant of $1,000 per apprentice, up to $25,000.  These apprentices must be newly hired; that is, they must have been a registered apprentice for less than 60 days prior to the effective date of a company’s grant.  Once the grant dollars are awarded, there is no further money available for the program, so interested contractors should apply soon.

The grant application and further information on the program can be found at the following link:  http://www.dli.mn.gov/business/workforce/job-training-grant.  Specific questions about the grant and the application can be directed to Ruth Taylor at [email protected]

Additionally, the Association Office reached out to MNDOLI for further information about the grant and clarification on questions that you may have about the application; the response is included below.

Feel free to contact Martha Henrickson at [email protected] or (612) 747-5544 if you would like to discuss the grant opportunity.

Thank you.

Respectfully,

Douglas B. Schroeder
