On June 7, 2001, President George W. Bush signed into law the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act, the first of two "Bush tax cuts." That measure reduced the top income tax rate from 39.6 percent to 35 percent, and reduced capital gains and estate taxes. - Fargo Rep. Rick Berg announces six town halls across North Dakota
Fargo Rep. Rick Berg plans to hold at least six town hall meetings throughout the state this month while Congress is on its summer break. This will be the second series of town halls Berg has held since taking office in January. Each event is open to the public.
